Recommendation Methodology

First, we filter out books that don't match the selected language, suspense limit, and age range. Only then do we calculate a score out of 100.

Weighting: age 25 · reading level 25 · interests 30 · format preferences 10 · similarity to favorite titles 10. Age is compared to the read-aloud range when a parent reads and the independent reading range otherwise.

Explanations are generated exclusively from the profile metadata. In this prototype, metadata are demonstrative estimates and have not yet been validated by the editorial team.
